What is Financial Abuse?

Financial abuse is a form of abuse when one partner has control over the other partner's access to economic resources, which diminishes the victim's capacity to support themselves and forces them to depend on the perpetrator financially.

Examples of how the Australian Government pulling the purse strings of Australians to increase our compliance

The No jab, No Pay legislation introduced in 2016 reduced Family Tax Benefits and Child Care Subsidy for parents of children not up to date with the vaccination schedule.

The No jab, No play legislation introduced in 2016, many Australian States gave child care centres the option to refuse to enrol children not up to date with the vaccination schedule. Parents were either forced to get their child's vaccinations up to date, or try and find a child care centre that would take unvaccinated children. Some families who stuck to their guns, ended up further financially affected as some parents left their jobs or reduced their work hours to take care of their children.

More recently, the Queensland Aged Care Direction implemented on May 11 2020 and again on May 3, 2021 restricted Aged Care Workers from Aged Care facilities if they didn't get an Influenza vaccination. Aged care workers lost their jobs and income of they didnt comply with the Direction.
