My health is worth more to me than 20 bucks and a few flights...is yours?

On Monday , Qantas CEO Allan Joyce announced thay Qantas will offer a range of perks to people who are vaccinated to encourage more people to get a COVID jab.

The airline’s new incentive program, which will reward vaccinated passengers with ‘mega prizes’ – including unlimited travel for a year for 10 lucky families – as a way of encouraging more people to roll up their sleeves.

This comes as the federal government has been criticised for the slower-than-expected vaccine rollout despite already sinking $23M into marketing the vaccine rollout.

The concept of being rewarded for undergoing a medical procedure got me to thinking...

🤔 Does Allan Joyce think 1000 frequent flyer points is enough to get vaccine-resistant or vaccine-hesitant persons across the line?

🤔 Will prizes and lotteries for getting the jabs actually do more damage as people might feel like their health has been undervalued or they're being bought?

🤔 And, if some people do get convined to get the jabs and are one of the lucky 10 people to win free flights for yourself, partner and children for 1 year, where are you going? I guess, the lucky 10 won't be picked until 2022, so they will hopefully have more of a choice to travel to more countries.

Let's just hope the lucky winners feel well enough to travel and have enough disposable income to holiday for a year.
