A Prime Minister Who Knows A Thing Or 2 About Financial Coercion

The above statements were all made by Prime Minister Scott Morrison recently, ahead of and during the G7-plus Summit in Britain. The PM's statements were in relation to Australia's souring relationship with China regarding trade tariffs being placed on Australian exports.

The Australian Prime Minister understands the definition and negative impacts of financial coercion, and seeks those using financial coercion to be penalised. Excellent!

Given how vocal Scott Morrison has been on the topic of economic coercion, surely he has never used and would never use economic coercion to control Australians...

19/04/2015 - Minister for Social Services, the Hon. Scott Morrison today announced the Coalition Government will end the one religious exemption on children’s vaccinations for access to the taxpayer funded Child Care Benefit, Child Care Rebate and the Family Tax Benefit Part A end of year supplement from 1 January 2016.

"Eligibility for payments will be dependent on children having met early childhood immunisation requirements."

“While parents have the right to decide to not vaccinate their children, if they are doing so as a vaccination objector, they are no longer eligible for assistance from the Australian Government,”
