Victorian Premier given power to declare lockdown for three months under proposed pandemic laws
Let's break down the key points of this oppressive Bill before VIC parliament this week:
No more than 30-day rolling extensions
Ummm, this used to be 7 days!!! Then I became 14. Queensland actually jumped straight from 7 day extensions to 90 day extensions. Remember, VIC was in a 'snap 7-day lockdown that lasted 82 days.
Once again, a review of decisions means the decisions are ALREADY MADE! This does NOTHING for the people!
Not to mention, this will be yet another group of 'advisors' being paid to offer 'suggestions'. They will have no power to reject government.
Here's an idea💡
How about...instead of creating yet another layer of bureaucracy, the States report into the AHRC, and if the AHRC, cites significant or unbalanced human rights violations, they REJECT the public order(s) in question? Let's face reality...if someone is employed by the government to make review decisions, I am sure the ridiculous amount of money they will be paid will influence their decision-making abilities.
The Ministers of the States and Territories have been steering the sinking ship ever since COVID-19 started. Does the government really think the Ministers will disagree with the 'Medical Advice' of their cronies?
Of course not! This is yet another ruse.
Reasons? These are politicians we are talking about. They can bullshit and make things sound so much worse than they are...just look at the past 20 months in Australia. Every single day during the pandemic is 'unprecedented'. The government oppression is 'protecting' us.
Remember...to these people, your job doesn't matter, your business doesnt matter, your child's education doesn't matter, your human rights don't matter, your access to the elderly in aged care doesn't matter, crossing the border to go to a funeral doesn't matter, locking you up in hotel quarantine for 14 days with no fresh air doesn't matter, your mental health doesn't matter. And all in the name of Public Health. They will go to any length to control you.
Hahaha! They may have fooled our trusting citizens the first time round with this lie, but no more! We, the people, have no reason to trust that the data won't be stored and misused for undisclosed future ill-intent.
Oh look, a politician actually gets it!
Less than 24 hours to review important legislation, seems about right for this lot.
Oh wow! 1 Minister to sign off...give that Minister the right amount of money and authority and they will sign off on ANYTHING!

The VIC government are also raising Emergency Powers Safeguards Legislation Amendment Bill 2021 which is being introduced into Victorian State Parlaiment for a third reading and possible ascent this week.

Sounds catchy doesn't it?
Unfortunately, this Bill does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to safeguard Victorians from future tyranny being infliected by Premiers and Health Minister.
When the risk to Public Health exists, there will ALWAYS be justification for the Right To Life human right reigning supreme above all other human rights. We have seen this recently with regard to the NSW Supreme Court rulings over job losses and vaccine mandates.
This Bill does NOTHING to address the legitimacy or justification of declared public health emergencies. There are no metric s or rationale provided in the legislation which clearly states any thresholds or criteria a public health emergency must meet.
E.G. QUEENSLAND HAS HAD 7 DEATHS FROM COVID-19 IN 20 MONTHS AND CONTINUES GETTING THE GREEN LIGHT TO EXTEND THE PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY.
WORSE STILL...NORTHERN TERRITORY HAS HAD 0, ZIP, ZILCH, NADA, ZERO COVID-19 DEATHS SINCE THE START OF THE PANDEMIC BUT STILL HAS A PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY IN PLACE.
